Interested in Substitute Teaching?
Thank you for your interest in Substitute Teaching for Union County Public Schools. The Human Resources Staff provides an orientation and training for all new substitutes.
The substitute teacher applications are processed in the order in which they are received. Online applications must be completed and approved before the substitute can start working. You will be contacted via email when your application begins the review process. Subsequent to approval, you will receive a notification inviting you to attend a required substitute orientation.
Requirements to apply
Applicants must provide educational credentials to the application. Upload a valid or expired teaching license from any state in the United States or documentation of a two- or four-year college degree or high school diploma. All substitute teacher applicants will be processed for a current and satisfactory criminal records check.
For former UCPS teachers who would like to substitute teach, you will need to fill out a substitute application on the UCPS website, as this is a new position. If you have been separated from UCPS for over one year, a new NC State Health Certificate Form is required with your application.
We appreciate your support and cooperation.
